Competition: LIA - Gorilla Doctors

Result: Gold

There are only about 1000 gorillas left in the wild. Fortunately, there’s a dedicated group of veterinarians who look after their health. This competition tasked us with coming up with an idea to help raise money and awareness of the plights of the gorillas and the work of the doctors.

Our idea was the Gorilla Health Plan, partnering with health insurers to let people add an actual gorilla to their insurance plan, just like they’d add their child or grandparent. In doing so, they’d donate every time they paid their insurance fees.

Despite winning gold, we fell short of the grand prize, and missed out on a trip to the award show in Las Vegas, and a trip to Rwanda to meet the gorillas. I lose sleep every night because of this.
