Facing The Music
Outside of advertising I run a blog called Facing The Music, a music review publication written by a man who has never really heard music.
Facing the Music is a work of fiction, a running bit, a character study of a deeply tragic man who believes that music criticism will be his ticket to a success that he’s never once tasted and doesn’t deserve. Each review is a long-winded explanation of why he wasn’t able to listen to the album in time.
It’s one for serious music fans. Check it out.
“So, what else is there to say about an album such as this? 12 songs, that’s not bad value. The album cover is kind of weird. Swift is suspended in some kind of vat, but she’s dressed like a showgirl? Oh wait, I get it, it’s because the album is titled The Life of a Showgirl! A better name might have been Showgirl in a Vat so it better lines up with what we’re seeing on the cover. Currently, that’s a little confusing. Although I guess perhaps the songs shed some light on this whole mystery. Like I said, I haven’t heard it.”
